Important dates for this year’s Edwood FilmFest ’08, Your Short Film Party! Showing for one festive week only December 5-12, 2008 at the Spectrum 8 Theatre!
All Film Submission Deadline: October 10, 2008
Accepting for Submission:
∑ Short film (15 minutes or less)
∑ Music video (10 minutes or less)
∑ Movie trailer (2:30 minutes or less)
∑ Feature-length (70 minutes or more)
∑ 96-Hour Quickie (7 minutes or less).
Short Film: Original Short Film of 15-minute or less must be submitted on DVD. Open to all genres: drama, comedy, experimental, animation, etc..including non-genres. As traditional, novel, imaginative and inventive as you require to tell your small or tall tale at a length, again, no longer than 15 minutes.
Music Video: Original Music Video of 10-minutes or less must be submitted on DVD. Open to all those about to rock, tap, swan, animate or bend this genre with your own spin on meeting music and video. We salute and encourage your entry of a length no greater than 10 minutes.
Movie Trailer: Original Movie Trailer no longer than 2:30 minutes must be submitted on DVD. Nothing brings an audience to the edge of their future seat than a film preview… “Just when you thought it was safe to go into the Edwood FilmFest…we added this feature.” Dare to produce up to a two-and-one-half-minute piece advertising your coming attraction, be it real or imagined.
Feature-length Movie: An original Feature-length Movie can be submitted on DVD and must run longer than 70 minutes. Accepting all genres; including fiction, non-fiction.
96-Hour Quickie: This original movie can be no longer than 7-minutes and must be submitted on DVD or uploaded to our designated FTP site. Sign-up to make a Quickie short movie in the latest installment of the Edwood FilmFest original! Participate in a 4-day, 96-hour Filmmaker’s Challenge like nothing you’ve tried before! And get to make your movie with the assistance of Hollywood professionals!
Here’s how:
∑ Sign-in to participate (Can be a group or a single filmmaker).
at anytime, (Quickie film must be created and completed in a consecutive 96-hour period) before our festival quickie deadline date of October 6, 2008.
∑ Once you’ve registered with us and selected your starting date and time we’ll send via email your film challenge packet at one minute after the selected starting time of your selected starting date. The packet will include your Edwood FilmFest provided film title, theme and / or time period, genre, and setting.
∑ Before 24 hours have passed your “registered team” must email us your script to be eligible to receive or be denied a Producer’s credit awarding your “team” financial award in support of your film (there may be editorial and content changes required in order to receive award). “Registered teams” remain as full participants in Filmmaker’s Challenge Quickie whether they receive Producer’s credit award or not.
∑ Before 72 hours have passed an uploaded rough cut must be sent to us for review by a working professional Hollywood editor. All registered “teams” will then receive a specific editing decision (s) that must be followed.
∑ All registered Quickie films will then be due for final submission no later than the 96th hour via upload or postmarked and sent to the Edwood FilmFest by your registered “teams” specific contest Day 4’s ending date.
