About The Edwood FilmFest, The People's Film Festival

The 11th Edwood FilmFest is the New York Capital Region's best-known hands-on independent short film festival. With innovative shows dating back to its early years designing one of the world's first 72-hour film festivals, to last year's introduction of the locally-assembled, Hollywood-produced Microsodes, moviemakers submit their films from all over the planet and film buffs travel from all about the Hudson Valley, the Berkshires and Southern Vermont to come to Albany to view the latest inventions by local and international short film producers.

Since its inception, the festival has grown steadily, graduating from back rooms at local taverns, to sold-out shows at WAMC's Linda Norris Theatre, to 2007's wildly successful festival week of galas, award shows and world-premiere movies at the Spectrum8 Theatre, renown as one of the nation's foremost independently-owned theaters showcasing a wide range of world cinema.

Committed to bringing amateur and professional together to experience all of the creative levels of filmmaking, and with the enthusiastic support from local and national business, the Edwood FilmFest promises to demonstrate yet again in 2008 that the booming short film movement is delivering a landslide of creative community return!

Important dates for this year's Edwood FilmFest '08, Your Short Film Party! Showing for one festive week only December 5-12, 2008 at the Spectrum 8 Theatre!
